If your iPhone's battery life is leaving you feeling frustrated then you might want to consider amending two little-known mistakes, as it could end up granting you hours more in return.
All of the latest iPhones come with a number of highly desirable features, from an ability to play all of the biggest mobile games to utilizing 'game-changing' photo software while you're out and about.
It's expected that your phone's battery will degrade slightly over time, especially if you're a power user, but there might be a few settings that you have no idea about that are taking hours from your device's lifespan every day.

As reported by SHEfinds, there are two unexpected 'mistakes' that most iPhone users make, but amending them could give you the extra boost you need to get through the day without having to charge up in the middle.
The first of which is what's known as 'Background App Refresh', as this setting refreshes content of apps you've left open in the background if you're connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular networks.

Apple themselves advise that keeping apps open is another key way to save both battery and data on your iPhone, but leaving this setting untouched could be a huge mistake that you're falling prey to all the time.
Heading to the 'Settings' menu, you'll want to enter the 'General' section, then 'Background App Refresh' should be there for you to click on. You can turn it off completely, but what's better is to individually tailor the apps that you want to enable or disable this particular setting for.
For example, you might want to leave it on for messaging apps or news if you're constantly checking it throughout the day, but social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or X can be a real killer if they're constantly left to refresh while you're not on them.
Much like Background App Refresh, Location Services is a real killer when its working away in the background, and you likely have no idea that it's even draining your battery as much as it is.

Surprisingly, most apps that you download and keep on your phone take advantage of location services somehow, and even from the perspective of privacy it's worth considering which of these actually need to have it on in the first place.
It's super useful if you use any weather applications, as having your live location stay up to date means you're never out of the loop, but there's so many that are simply draining your battery for no reason at all.
Unlike the aforementioned 'mistake', Location Services doesn't simply offer an 'on' or 'off' binary, and instead gives you the opportunity to enable it only while you're using the apps themselves.

This means that it's there when you need it but it's not taking up precious battery power when you're doing something else, and it's recommended to opt for this particular setting for almost every app that you feel would benefit from tracking your location.
You can find the option by heading into the 'Settings' menu once more, and then selecting 'Privacy & Security' where you'll then be able to locate the 'Location Services' menu.
