Apple fans praise new Ultra Watch 4 as 'truly groundbreaking' following addition of this accessibility feature
It has been a big week for Apple announcements, with the tech giant unveiling a range of new products and features during its ‘Surprise and shine’ event on Wednesday (September 9).
As part of its annual phone event, the company shared new details about the likes of its latest phone models, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, as well as its first ever foldable device known as the iPhone Duo.
Other additions to the Apple line up also include the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Ultra Watch 4, which comes with a ‘groundbreaking’ new accessibility feature that people are raving about online.
Taking to social media to share their thoughts on the new addition, one person wrote on Reddit: “Hi all, I’m 100% deaf and I am lucky to be able to have cochlear implants. Essentially, my whole life I have been speaking regular English and engaging in regular conversations, primarily because I was implanted at such a young age (super grateful for technology!).

“When I was watching the Apple event yesterday, I was doing work and kind of listening to it in the background, but once I heard something about the deaf community or hard of hearing, I immediately stopped what I was doing and I just stared at the screen. features that the ultra 4 provides when it comes to sirens, alarms, fire detectors, smoke detectors, baby screamings was a huge thing for me, primarily because when I go to sleep, I take my implants off and hear absolutely nothing, or sometimes when I forget to bring a battery or two, I’ve gotta drive home and I can’t hear.

New accessibility feature coming to Apple
So, which feature is the Apple fan referring to? Well, the new Audio Intelligence is set to become a major accessibility improvement for the firm, which is designed to help users to make sense of what they’re hearing.
When enabled, Siri AI will be able to listen out for sounds and be able to recognize various sounds including things like alarms, sirens, doorbells, and even a baby crying. It will also be able to replay parts of a conversation you just missed.
Live Rewind will also be available through Audio Intelligence, which lets you double-press the Digital Crown and retrieve a short snippet of what was just said, which could be handy if you missed a sentence or didn't quite catch what someone said.
Apple’s wider Audio Intelligence system also includes features such as Siri Recap, which can create summaries from conversations and other audio.
