People can't believe how much Apple is charging for its newest iPhone accessory.
Apple delivered plenty of excitement to customers last week at its highly anticipated 'special' event. During the display, the Silicon Valley company revealed four brand-new phone models, including the ground-breaking 'iPhone Air', described as 'unlike anything before.'
Among the updates for iOS 26, the tech giant also announced a 'life-saving feature' coming to its new AirPods range.
However, the price of the new iPhone 17 isn't the only thing that's left users speechless.

The discussion started when one Apple user posted on Reddit about the iPhone's 'crossbody strap' that cost almost a whopping $60.

"Genuinely curious about the explanation for this strap?" the user posted on Reddit in disbelief. "For the price of a nice bike lock this thing better be able to hold up to 500lb and can be used as a spare teather in a helicopter rescue mission."
The responses were predictably unimpressed.
"Because it is made by Apple," one user stated.
"Are you not familiar with Apple," another joked while someone else pointed out: "Because people will pay that price."

In case you were wondering if the strap comes with any special features, it doesn't, unfortunately. Apple have gone down a seemingly different avenue of wearables in that you can now 'wear' your iPhone.

Now available on the Apple Store, the company's $59 accessory is designed to attach to certain iPhone cases, converting them into wearable devices.
The 'crossbody strap' ranges in 10 colours that match the cases Apple also launched during its fall event.
And yes, that means those who wish to purchase the strap must also purchase one of Apple's new compatible cases, which can cost up to an additional $59.
The strap attaches to the bottom of Apple's new clear, TechWoven, and silicone cases made for all iPhone 17 models and the iPhone Air.

Unlike the leather offerings on the market today, Apple's strap is reportedly made from recycled plastic, known as PET yarn, according to Business Insider.
"When something becomes so much a part of you, it needs to reflect your style," CEO Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal.
Meanwhile, on X, some users were worried about the lack of security that comes with 'wearing' expensive devices. In response to a showcase video of the wearable product, one user replied: "But why? I don’t want to get robbed in broad daylight".
The accessory features adjustable length capabilities, with magnets and steel sliders, which extend from 42 to 81 inches to accommodate various preferences.
Whether cheaper versions will appear on the likes of Amazon is yet to be seen. For now, this appears to be Apple's exclusive design at a typical premium price.
