iPhone users have been raving about a new iOS 26 feature that is ‘seemingly small’ but will ‘make a difference every day’.

This comes as Apple released the latest version of its operating system, which comes with a whole host of new features for iPhone fans.

The tech giant recently unveiled its new phone model, the iPhone 17, along with the highly anticipated iPhone Air at its ‘awe dropping’ live event earlier this month.

And there is one new iOS 26 feature that users can’t wait to try out on the new devices.

Taking to social media to share their own thoughts on it, one user posted on Reddit about the brand new Call Screening function.

They wrote: “I'm looking forward to this feature more than any other - seemingly small but will make a difference every day.”

Another said: “

Literally the best feature. I finally have relief. Installed iOS 26, set up this feature, had one call come in, got screened, and haven’t had another call in over 24hrs. For note, I’m used to getting 3-10 spam calls/day. This is a huge relief.”

A third person explained: “It’s in Settings -> Phone. Scroll down a bit and you’ll find 3 options: Off, ask for call reason or muted.”

And a fourth added: “It works perfectly.”

On the Apple website, it details how the feature works, explaining: “Call Screening automatically answers calls from unknown numbers without interrupting you.

“Once the caller shares their name and reason for their call, your iPhone rings and shares their response so you can decide if you want to pick up. You can also choose to silence calls from unknown callers and send them directly to voicemail.”

How to enable the iPhone Call Screening feature

In order to enable the new feature, you’ll first need to head to the Settings app on your iPhone.

Click on Apps, followed by Phone and you’ll be faced with three options:

  1. Never: Call Screening is turned off and your iPhone will ring when you receive a call from an unsaved number.
  2. Ask Reason for Calling: Calls from unknown numbers will be asked for more information before the iPhone rings.
  3. Silence: Calls from unsaved numbers will be silenced, sent to voicemail, and appear in the Recents list.

Make your choice and your phone will sort out the rest for you. Although, it is important to note that Siri will speak to the caller in your iPhone’s default language so you might need to make sure it matches your region in order for the feature to be effective.
