Siri AI soon set to be available for millions but only these Apple devices qualify
As Apple is set to release iOS 27 in the coming weeks, many fans are anticipating the major upgrade of the firm’s virtual assistant.
This is because Siri is expected to be getting a huge revamp, being remarketed as Siri AI.
Apple has described this new version of the assistant as being a ‘profoundly more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness’.
On the Apple website, it states: “Siri AI also includes a dedicated app for users to revisit conversations across their products, an expanded Visual Intelligence experience, and integrated tools for writing.

“With a bold new architecture uniquely designed to protect users’ privacy, Siri AI leverages the next generation of Apple Intelligence to bring state-of-the-art understanding and reasoning, along with powerful system-wide capabilities, to Apple’s operating systems. These features are available for developer testing starting today, and will be available as a beta to users later this year.”
However, it seems not everyone will be able to enjoy this update as only certain Apple devices will qualify, as reported by 9to5Mac.
Which Apple devices will support the new Siri AI?
If you’re wondering whether your device will support the newly revamped Siri AI, here is a full list of all supported iPhone models:
- iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e
- iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, iPhone 16e
- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone Air
Meanwhile, the iPads that will be compatible with the tech are the iPad Air, iPad Pro, and the iPad Mini.
For fans of the Apple Watch, you’ll need to have an Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later, or the Apple Watch SE 3 in order to use Siri AI.
Apple goes on to state: “Siri AI can help users find what they need in the moment, from answering questions from the web on virtually any topic, to surfacing relevant information from a user’s personal messages, emails, photos, and more.”
Craig Federighi, who is Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, adds: “With access to broad world knowledge for up-to-date answers on virtually any topic, along with onscreen awareness and personal context understanding, Siri AI can help users take action across apps more naturally than ever.”
After being first announced back in June, a release date for iOS 27 is yet to be revealed but many fans are anticipating for the new operating system to be dropped in September.
