There is a way to control your iPhone using just your eyes in a clever new update.

The recent release of iOS 18 has brought in a lot of exciting new features to Apple.

And with last week’s launch of iOS 18.1, there’s even more new functions to play with.

The latest upgrade has seen the introduction of Apple Intelligence, something that the tech giant has been teasing for months.

According to Apple, Siri has gotten a revamp with the new AI feature of the iPhone, adding that the virtual assistant has ‘all-new superpowers’.

The firm said: “With an all-new design, richer language understanding, and the ability to type to Siri whenever it’s convenient for you, communicating with Siri is more natural than ever.

“Equipped with awareness of your personal context, the ability to take action in and across apps, and product knowledge about your devices’ features and settings, Siri will be able to assist you like never before.”

But Apple Intelligence isn’t the only exciting addition with the operating system upgrade.

Now, there are new accessibility features that can completely change the way you use your phone.

Eye Tracking is a function powered by AI that enables users to navigate their devices using just their eyes.

But how do you activate the feature?

How to switch on Eye Tracking

First of all, you’ll need to open the Settings app on your iPhone. Although, Eye Tracking is also available on the iPad and on Mac computers.

In your settings, there will be an option for Accessibility, which can be found just below General.

Tap on Accessibility and it’ll take you through to another list of options.

Out of these options, which includes things like Audio Descriptions and Voice Control, there will also be Eye Tracking.

Alongside it, you’ll find a toggle which you’ll need to slide across to activate it.

With Eye Tracking switched on, it’ll give you instructions to follow in order to calibrate.

This will include a series of tasks where you’ll be asked to trace a dot on the screen with your eye so that the phone can learn how to follow your eye commands.

It’s important to note that if you decide to switch the option off and turn it back on at a later date, then you’ll need to recalibrate the feature.

If you can’t see this accessibility option on your device then you might need to update your operating system, as this will only work on iOS 18.
