Apple is set to announce a range of new devices in its upcoming ‘surprise and shine’ event taking place next week.
Apple fans will be able to tune in from around the world as next Wednesday’s (September 9) will be live streamed online.
While not much has been confirmed as to what the tech giant will actually be unveiling, rumors have been swirling, with many customers anticipating the announcement of the new iPhone 18 lineup.
Another highly anticipated launch which could be revealed at the event is the Apple Watch Series 12, with new leaks having reportedly revealed three features that could justify upgrading your old smartwatch.
Continuous heart rate monitor
As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new Apple Watch is expected to offer continuous heart rate monitoring, meaning that the watch will be able to record its user’s heart rate all day, with the feature always being switched on.

This feature will be available in the Fitness app, with many fans taking to social media to share their excitement about the addition.
One user wrote on Reddit: “I think this is super needed! Always-on heart-rate tracking will make the activity rings and maybe even sleep tracking a lot more accurate.”
And another added: “I would upgrade instantly if it’s the case.”
New S-series processor for the Apple Watch
It has been suggested that the new smartwatch could also come with a new chip as, according to MacRumors, the Series 12 might include the T8320 architecture, branded S11 or S12.
It is rumored that this could be used to power Siri AI for the watch in the next update of watchOS.
Ceramic case
Another rumor that fans are getting excited about is the possibility that Apple could be bringing back its ceramic case for the Series 12.

According to Bloomberg, this is set to be available in two colors, white and dark gray, and will be the first time the case has made an appearance since 2019.
This could add a hefty chunk to the price tag but is music to some users’ ears, with one person writing: “Day 1 purchase for me if true. If not I will wait for next model. I am on s10 but for ceramic I would jump on it.”
Another shared: “I hope so! I missed out on the ceramic last time and regretted it.”
And a third added: “It’s a big deal for people with metal allergies (who are also rich, lol).”
