Could we be any more disappointed? Netflix is set to lose one of its biggest shows before the end of 2025, and while you've had decades to watch it, we're not sure the streaming giant will ever be the same.

For those worried that Stranger Things is about to vanish from the platform, don't worry, because you can still make a trip to the Upside Down. Similarly, Walter White is still cooking blue meth in Breaking Bad, you can still enjoy the tech terrors of Black Mirror, and there are plenty of opportunities to practice the "Dead Dance" with Wednesday on Netflix.

Unfortunately for fans of '90s comedy, the fan-favorite Friends isn't long for this world.

Chances are that you've at least seen some of the comedy classic, if not watched every episode. While there are arguments that some of the jokes haven't aged particularly well (we're looking at you, Ross Geller), that doesn't take away from Friends' beloved place on the podium of TV greats.

With 236 episodes of near-perfection, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe have never been far from our hearts.

There are too many great moments to count, and with season 2's "The One After the Superbowl" seeing some 52.9 million people tune in back in 1996, there's no escaping the popularity of Friends.

From being locked in the entertainment cabinet, being serenaded by "Smelly Cat", there are ugly naked guys, Dudley Moore haircuts, fogged yetis, and mispoken wedding vows waiting for you with a cup of joe at Central Perk. In the words of Janice, "Oh...my...God."

You'll have to be quick though, as Netflix has just confirmed that all episodes of Friends are leaving on December 30.

There's some sort of silver lining, as Friends coming off Netflix coincides with HBO Max launching in the UK. That should take some of the sting out of the recent price hike.

It seems that Netflix's loss is HBO Max's gain if you're a subscriber to the rival service, although its reported 128 million subscribers are a far cry from Netflix's crop of over 310 million.

As you can imagine, fans were outraged and heartbroken in equal measure, with one person simply writing: "Genuinely heartbroken Friends is being taken off of Netflix :((((." You’ve made it clear that you turn to the show for an easy watch when you want some comfort. One angry subscriber wrote: "Ok, WTH is going on !? @netflix why are you getting rid of Friends !? This is bloody shocking ! Ffs my go-to programme to watch and relax . Ffs."

Another added: "Netflix is removing friends, I don’t know how to cope with this devastating news."

A third concluded: "Friends is leaving Netflix @netflix. Do you want me to cancel my subscription because I will."

Even though we don't imagine you'll actually be cancelling your subscription just because Friends is moving out of Apartment 20, it's still a massive blow. The good news is that with it taking 88.5 hours (3.7 days) to watch all 236 episodes, you've got plenty of time to restart your binge of all things Bing.
