Signs your house is 'slowly killing you' as woman shows horrific symptoms

One woman warns others to take this household issue seriously

Your home could be 'slowly killing you' right now and you might not even realize it, as one woman on TikTok shares the horrific symptoms she started to notice while her home was taken over.

There are plenty of downsides to renting a home instead of owning one yourself, but one of the most dangerous often lies in the risk of mold developing as renters often have little power to actually take action against horrific fungus.

Mold tends to grow and spread through tiny spores that start as a result of excess moisture in the air. You often find mold developing in shower rooms without proper ventillation, or in homes that have excessive levels of condensation that isn't properly dealt with.

While there is a certain amount that you can do as a renter, it's often out of your control as you're unable to implement proper ventilation sources or improve the heating circumstances on your home, and once it starts to spread you're partially at the liberty of your landlord or management company as to whether they're willing to deal with it.

One woman on TikTok has shared the horrific experience she had with mold poisoning that appeared in her rental home, as she recounts feeling "gaslit the entire time by my landlords, building owner, and management company."

She writes that "mold poisoning and toxicity is not talked about enough," adding that "it will make you feel inhuman" before showing photos of herself before and after the affects of mold took hold of her body.

She initially started to notice her hair thinning and even falling out in clumps, leaving her with significantly less hair on her head than before. Additionally, she developed horrific rashes all over her skin that appeared every single day, alongside numerous unexplained bumps.

Bruises also appeared following hospital visits, where doctors would take her blood in an attempt to figure out what was wrong with her, and it all started to make sense when she noticed water leaking and mold growing right above her bed.

This was then tested for mold with positive results across the board, leaving her with the answer she was seeking but no better because of it as the problem still wasn't being dealt with.

It is revealed in the comments of the video that she eventually sued her landlord, but settled outside of court, a decision she 'regrets' so much in retrospect.

"I definitely feel better," she noted to another comment asking how she is now following the discovery. "I broke the lease. Moved out. Then moved again across the country.

"Got rid of most everything. It took months but just leaving the environment made me feel so much better. At the time of the lawsuit, I was so exhausted and was flying back and forth across the country and physically couldn't handle it anymore. Settled and wish I stuck it out."

The circumstances she found herself subject to were "a completely avoidable situation but they didn't listen to me," and she asserts that "this isn't okay and no one should go through it."
