A police officer has issued a warning to all iPhone users, claiming that they are ‘in danger’ unless they change this crucial setting as soon as possible.
The man went viral on social media after he advised members of the public to be careful about which settings they have on their smartphones.
Known on TikTok as @policehelpfultips, the unnamed officer has warned a certain setting could end up leaving your phone’s personal data exposed.
In a recent video, the man warned: “We’re just made aware of a danger and it’s for anybody that has an iPhone, so please listen up.

“So the danger that I was made aware of for anybody that has an iPhone, basically the iPhone 17, iOS 17 all the way up to current… you need to go into the settings and change the airplay setting to never or ask.
“Me personally, I would change it to never because as this is a convenience to be able to transfer information from one cell phone to the other, it’s too easy.
“There are hackers out there that have a setting on their phone, and they literally have it where they can take their phone, put it on top of yours, or right, buy it real quickly, and get all your information from your phone in a matter of seconds.”
The video has since racked up over 2.7 million views, with many people taking to the TikTok comment section to react to the news.
One user wrote: “On the airdrop tab in settings there’s an option labeled ‘start sharing by bringing devices together’, I think he may be referring to that.”
Another said: “Good thing im broke and always keep airdrop off.”

A third person commented: “went to a mall in houston and it literally had signs all over to turn your bluetooth off lol bc of this.”
And a fourth added: “Nothing safe anymore.”
This isn’t the first time that the police officer has offered his insight to the public as another video he posted warned people about a danger facing Uber and taxi users.
He said: “So one of the new things now they're doing is, as soon as you get in the vehicle, they will try to offer you a water.
“And a lot of times, what they've done is they have taken a needle and they have injected the bottle with just a little bit of fentanyl or whatever it is they decide to use to try to make you lethargic and or knock you out of some type.”
