Man reveals symptoms he thought were normal that vanished when he quit vaping in life-changing decision

You might want to consider quitting if you share these symptoms

One man has shared his experience on TikTok since he stopped vaping, and it's remarkable quite how many symptoms he thought were 'normal' or associated with other health issues actually disappeared once he cut out the cigarette alternative.

Many people hold the perception that vaping is 'healthier' than smoking cigarettes, as while it is in many regards – especially because you're not inhaling any of the nasty tar that's present in the non-electronic option – it can be surprisingly harmful to your body in ways you might not expect.

Some horrific studies have shown the 'devastating' long-term health effects of vaping on your body, and you'd be shocked to find out how long it takes for your lungs to recover from every puff.

One TikTok account has shared their experience once they quit the habit though, and it'll leave you stunned at quite how many symptoms he'd accepted as 'normal' disappeared immediately.

Posted by 'j0.sef', the first symptom he highlighted was 'awful gut health', to the point where he even thought he had developed irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for years.

"I've been convinced now, I wanna say for three years, that I've definitely got IBS. I've not vaped for nine [or] ten days, majority of my symptoms have gone away, so that's number one."

Next up on the list is heart palpitations, which led him to believe that he was "riddled with anxiety," yet as soon as he ditched the vapes his heart feels like it's back to normal.

Third and finally is his sleeping habits, as he details: "I've been convinced for the longest time I've got like a really bad sleep problem. I've stopped vaping, first time in years I've actually been able to sleep through the night."

It's certainly not a coincidence that all of these problems that have plagued his body for years have suddenly all disappeared at the same time around the point where he quit his vaping habit, as it's led him to one clear conclusion.

"So the moral of the story is: stop vaping. It will change your life," he declares.

Many comments underneath the video are sharing similar experiences once they stopped vaping, with one even revealing that they made the decision after their lungs 'started hurting'.

"Anyone else get constant phlegm coming up from vaping," writes another, with a third adding that they "quit for 6 months and the glow in my face came back, I didn't have a single headache, I didn't actually crave sugary foods as much, ended up going back to it and I feel poorly from it."

By far the biggest challenge for most though is actually quitting, as some have noted that it's a harder process than stopping cigarettes, perhaps because you can 'switch' to vapes as a solution for that.

"You just have to keep telling yourself you don't vape anymore," writes one comment advising others how to quit. "It's so annoying at first but you just have to be like nope don't vape everything you think of it. It gets lets and less."

Another comment suggested that you "throw away any vapes you have. Don't wait to finish them you'll convince yourself to buy another. Avoid shops that sell them. I promise after 2 weeks you will start to forget about it."
