A Harvard doctor has revealed exactly what happens to your body when you quit sugar for 30 days and the results are mind blowing.
According to the expert, the changes will likely be obvious after just two weeks of detoxing your body from sugar.
Dr Saurabh Sethi, who is a gastroenterologist and a Harvard University alum, has revealed that cutting the sweet stuff out of your diet could be the answer to many health benefits.
Sharing his knowledge with his followers on social media, the doctor explained that cutting out sugar will give your body a much needed ‘reset’.

Sethi posted a video to his TikTok account (@doctorsethimd) where he detailed how the diet switch up could lead to a change in your face shape and less puffy eyes.
He explained: “Your face will likely shift from looking rounder to a more natural shape. Any puffiness or fluid retention around your eyes will also reduce.”
Sethi continued: “Additionally, eliminating sugar leads to a happier gut by restoring a healthy gut microbiome.”
No more sugar could also mean much clearer skin, according to the expert.
He went on to say: “Lastly, if you have acne or red spots, your skin should improve and look clearer.”
On a more serious note, cutting sugar out of your diet can reduce your risk of health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
Other noticeable changes highlighted by the doctor include improved moods, less anxiety or anger and potentially better sleep.

Many people took to social media to react to the video, with one user writing in the TikTok comment section: “Yes true i left sugar for 3 weeks and i can see lots of changes in me.”
Another said: “This is actually very true. If you’re saying nothing happened then that’s probably because there are hidden sugars and some of the things that you were eating or drinking.”
However, not everyone was happy about the clip, with a third person commenting: “So basically you are saying cut off tea? Noooooooo.”
And a fourth seemed to feel like the change was not worth the hassle, adding: “It's better to live 5 years of fruitful life than living a 25 years of tasteless life.”
The NHS said: “Eating too much sugar can contribute to people having too many calories, which can lead to weight gain.”
The message continued: “Sugar is one of the main causes of tooth decay. To prevent tooth decay, reduce the amount of food and drinks you have that contain free sugars.”
