'Looksmaxxing' streamer exposed in front of thousands as his cap and wig is stolen live on stream

Not the kind of 'snatched' look that he's used to

There's continued debate about the 'looksmaxxing' industry, with one creator left looking more than a little red-faced when his cap and wig were seemingly snatched in the middle of a livestream. In the aftermath of the incident, looksmaxxer Androgenic has spoken out and seems to have gotten the last laugh as he’s sure to make more than a few dollars from this viral situation.

Often connected to the 'manosphere', the term looksmaxxing first appeared on incel message boards in the 2010s and has since made a resurgence via TikTok.

While there are more harmless aspects like 'softmaxxing' where you undertake the likes of grooming and skin routines to enhance your appearance, more extreme methods are out there – although there are questions about whether they're actually being practised.

We recently covered Bradan "Clavicular" Peters, who claimed to have taken a hammer to his jaw to cause tiny fractures and heal with a more sculpted look. There are obvious warnings about the dangers of bone smashing and other supposed hardmaxxing terms like roidmaxxing (using steroids) and whitemaxxing (making your skin appear lighter).

Androgenic hasn't gone viral for being a hardmaxxing influencer, but instead, he's blown up the internet due to him having his wig and cap snatched while filming at a Brisbane street mall on Kick.

Shared by the X account @Kick_champ, Androgenic is left stunned when a bystander whips off his disguise to reveal a thinning head of hair.

Turning to his assailant, the streamer says, "I've just had a hair transplant bo and then adds, "That's gonna go as viral as f**k."

It seems he's right, because at the time of writing, the clip has since been viewed 41.4 million times.

Responding to the video with some typically Gen Z terminology, one person wrote: "Androgenic got baldmogged live wig snatched, hairline clapped, full fraudmaxxer reveal. Aura evaporated in seconds. Generational L, no coming back from that."

Another added: "These are the guys telling you that smashing your face with hammers will make you look better."

Someone else made a frankly brilliant read that RuPaul would be proud of, as they added: "To prove how gay all of this was to start with it's just circled back to snatching wigs."

Defending Androgenic, someone else concluded: "This is a hate crime btw but laugh it up."

However, there could be more to the story. It seems Androgenic has attempted to go full Nikocado Avocado by pulling the wool (or is it the wig) over our eyes. In a follow-up TikTok, he replied: "I don't think people realised that I've literally been spamming videos of me being bald for like two months, and I literally publicly made videos of me showing that I'm wearing a wig days ago, but I'm glad this is going this viral."

In another video, Androgenic concluded: "The looksmaxxing niche is only going to get bigger because it's so self-reinforcing.

"I get my wig snatched off in public, and I just get millions of people telling me I look disgusting. And look, you might be right, but you're just proving the importance of looks more."

Androgenic has gone on to share pictures of himself in 'bad wigs' to prove his point, saying that he recently splashed nearly $300,000 on a hair transplant. Obviously, no hair system costs anywhere near this amount of money, meaning skeptics are convinced the entire thing has been a way to increase his clout and promote the looksmaxxing scene.

If this is the case, well played, sir.
