That said, many medical experts and healthcare professionals have warned of a long list of side effects that users must consider alongside the benefits.
These range from relatively minor issues like 'Ozempic breath' and nausea to more unusual problems including skin changes and digestive issues.
But despite the potential complications, many have turned to using these drugs for weight loss.
People have reported varied experiences using Mounjaro (containing the active ingredient tirzepatide) and Ozempic (containing semaglutide), two of the most recognised brand names.
Now, a content creator has shared her reason for switching from Ozempic to Mounjaro as part of her weight loss efforts.

In her most recent content, the social media icon has spoken out about her experience with GLP-1 drugs. She revealed that her weight loss and 'amount of pounds lost' demonstrated to her doctor that 'Ozempic wasn't working.'
Real name Victoria explained: "From the beginning, I knew Mounjaro is better, so I had to 'fail' with Ozempic before I could be switched to Mounjaro."
She then discussed how she didn't have 'any side effects' while being on different types of medication, while admitting that she took Wellbutrin, an antidepressant, alongside her weight loss drugs.
"There is some part of that where since it alters your satiety, it makes it so you're not as hungry, there's also some folks who kind of deal with somewhat of a depression," she added.
Victoria also recognised that some people lose interest in activities they previously enjoyed. "People have been able to quit like some substances that they've abused. I really don't feel like I had any side effects. And when that really just didn't do what my doctor wanted it to do well enough, we switched on over to Mounjaro."
Victoria believes that she's now 'gone up one step' and now there's 'only one more step' for her to go.
Discussing her antidepressant Wellbutrin, which she takes alongside another medication called Zoloft, Victoria added: "An interesting part about Wellbutrin is there is kind of a part to Wellbutrin where it can also have an appetite suppressant to it."
