We all love getting something for nothing, and when it comes to video gamers, they love hunting out a bargain.

The whole reason we shell out monthly for subscription services like PS Plus and Game Pass is so we can get access to an impressive catalog of titles without having to splash out on their full retail price.

While there's a lot of debate about video game preservation, and controversy when Ubisoft Director of Subscriptions at Ubisoft Philippe Tremblay told us we need to 'get comfortable' with not owning our games, PS Plus remains a popular option for gamers.

Despite backlash where some vowed to vote with their wallets and cancel their PS Plus, many of you don't look like you're going anywhere.

Not long after PS Plus added the juggernaut that is Diablo 4, savvy gaming fans are told to look out for a free game that will cost you nothing to play.

As reported by Push Square, someone at Sony could be in hot water thanks to one PS5 game seemingly being made free by accident.

Although it might not be The Last of Us Part II or God of War Ragnarok, a free game is a free game.

The outlet explains how CarX Street was accidentally listed for nothing on PlayStation's European store. Instead of being the usual £24.99 in the United Kingdom, it was showing up for nothing.

It's said that the mistake showed CarX Street as free for PS Plus Essential subscribers through to September 10.

Text on the PS Store implied that the free listing was an error, but as thousands ran to download CarX Technologies' open-world racer, the gaming giant didn't look like it was in a rush to fix things.

Some claim that the loophole has been fixed, although it remains unclear whether Sony will revoke access to those who picked up CarX Street for free or if it’ll continue letting them play without stumping up the price of admission. Also, considering the rocking racer only came to PS5 in July 2025, it's well worth checking out for those of you who are on the Blue Team.

For those who haven't heard of CarX Street, it boasts an impressive 4.15 rating on the PS Store, based on 3.3k ratings. The game's description states: "Conquer mountain slopes, vast highways, and bustling city streets in CarX Street.

"Build the car of your dreams with fine-tuning that reveals the full potential of CarX Technology© physics. Take part in thrilling single or multiplayer races, and enjoy realistic gameplay and dynamic controls."

As CarX Street was sitting at under 2.5k reviews when it orignally went free, it shows just how many of you have dashed to get it downloaded.
