People notice painfully awkward detail about the laptops used in Google's Keynote presentation

People have noticed a painfully awkward detail about the laptops that were used in Google’s recent Keynote presentation.

The small detail ended up becoming a huge talking point online as viewers took to social media to share their own reactions after a screenshot from the event went viral.

In the image, six laptops can be seen being used as part of the address, however only four of them have been ‘camouflaged’ so that the brand of the product is disguised.

The other two laptops on the stage can be seen to be from Samsung and it has left people puzzled as to why only some of the products were hidden from sight.

Taking to Reddit about the matter, one person shared the photo and wrote: “Kinda funny how there are 4 camouflaged MacBooks in the Google I/O keynote, right next to the 2 laptops from their partner Samsung.”

This sparked a lot of replies with one user saying: “When I was at Google, we had the choice between macbook, thinkpad or chromebook.

“Working is SWE, most used linux on thinkpad, the more design/not serious programmers used macbooks and hardly anyone used chromebooks that I saw.”

And another joked: “Huh? Wonder why they don’t use their amazingly powerful, and incredibly built OS ChromeOS?”

One person didn’t see the funny side, asking: “Why is it funny? I mean...it isn’t a Microsoft event....”

But this prompted a reply from another user who explained: “I think OP’s point is that they are hiding the Mac’s, but not the Samsungs. I mean, if they have a partner deal with Samsung, I can see why they wouldn’t want to showcase Macs right next to them.”

It seems someone at Google didn’t want people to know that they were using Apple laptops for the event.

In other news from Google, the tech giant has recently announced its transformation of its AI assistant, known as Gemini, which has now been turned into an operating system.

Its new features include being able to integrate itself with your Maps app as well as Calendar and Tasks in order to help with planning, shopping or even fixing things in a smarter way.

On the Google website, it says: “Go Live to brainstorm out loud. Gemini adapts to your conversational style so you can change your mind mid-sentence, ask follow-up questions, and multi-task with ease.

“Need to interrupt or want to change the subject? Gemini Live can easily pivot in whatever direction you want to take the conversation.”
