It was a kiss seen around the world, but instead of being a heartwarming moment caught on kiss cam, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot never intended their smooch to be shared millions of times around the world.
The pair were caught looking cosy at a Coldplay concert, with frontman Chris Martin inadvertently exposing what looked like an extramarital affair.
Everyone jumped on the story, with Elon Musk speaking out, the woman who took the original TikTok video going almost as viral, and Byron eventually stepping down.
The press has hounded Meg Kerrigan Byron, and although most of the affected parties have gone to ground, Cabot's husband has finally shared his thoughts on the sordid situation.

Andrew Cabot is the CEO of Privateer Rum, with a spokesperson for him stating he and his wife "were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert."
The statement to PEOPLE explains: "Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening.
Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued."

On September 7, NBC News also reported that Kristin Cabot had filed for divorce on August 13 – less than a month after the Coldplay scandal. Court documents state that the next hearing is scheduled for November 26 at New Hampshire's family division court.
Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot haven't spoken publicly about the viral moment, and after he resigned just three days after he was caught on kiss cam, she soon followed suit.
At least Astronomer has been making the most of its newfound fame. The tech company even recruited Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, as a 'temporary spokesperson' in an equally viral move that poked fun at the situation.

Going with the idea that you make hay while the sun is shining, interim Astronomer CEO Pete DeJoy said: "The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies—let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world—ever encounter.
"The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name."
Martin has also spoken out and vowed to keep doing what he's doing as he told fans: "We're going to do our f**king kiss cam... so if you're not prepared to be on international news, please duck."
While the likes of Stephen Colbert have spoofed the Coldplay kiss cam scandal, we imagine it's only a matter of time until Byron and Cabot eventually speak out. We don't know about you, but we think this has Oprah interview written all over it.
