Pornhub's 2025 year in review reveals 'bleak' detail about the USA

We dread to think what 2026's map is going to look like

Santa isn't coming down the chimney just yet, but it appears that we've already got a present under the tree in terms of the annual Pornhub Year in Review. Acting as a saucy Spotify Wrapped, the popular adult entertainment site reveals what we've been getting our rocks off to in 2025.

Although the Pornhub Year in Review isn't personalized like Spotify Wrapped, that's a brainwave we can see future versions eventually adding. Since 2013, the porn Goliath has released its own Year in Review and revealed how tastes have changed over the year.

Despite Pornhub having a particularly troublesome year with age verification laws, LADbible's 'For F**k's Sake' campaign has reiterated that 77% of Gen Z internet users still watch porn, with 1 in 4 saying they've felt the need to watch more extreme/different porn over time.

Even though the top trending searches have largely remained unchanged since 2024, the fact that you're looking for some very different movie and TV characters suggests that things are moving in the more niche aspects of Pornhub.

Pornhub seems to be ticking along nicely as the 22nd most-viewed site on the internet (only slipping down one place), although there were earlier reports that it was losing one million users a day, and it shared its own concerns that third-party verification regulations would push fans to unregulated corners of the internet.

Still, this year has been a year of bans for Pornhub, which now finds itself completely outlawed in 23 US states.

As of December 2, Missouri has been added to the list to take the honor of being the 23rd state to give Pornhub blue balls. Others, including Kentucky, Texas, and Virginia, are notable exclusions.

Over on the r/porn_news subreddit, users highlighted the 'bleak' Pornhub map showing everywhere it's currently banned.

There's been a massive boom in VPN usage, which Pornhub itself has called out.

One person wrote: "Watching the map exclude more states year after year is f**king bleak."

Another joked: "Horny grandma??? Wtf Oregon?"

A third concluded: "This is why I'm thankful for VPNs ... I'm in a blank state 🙄."

Elsewhere, critics have pointed out that Pornhub isn't technically 'banned' anywhere, but it has pulled out of those states requiring age verification.

In terms of the states where the 'hub' is still alive and kicking, there were some particularly interesting top relative search terms like 'puffy nipples' in Pennsylvania, 'thicc' in Louisiana, and 'dildo sucking' in the District of Columbia.

With Pornhub continuing to dive into the sometimes sticky depths of our viewing habits every year, we'll be back in 2026 to see what's changed – well, assuming it's still up and running in any state.
