Elon Musk has issued a four-word response after it was revealed that Jeffrey Epstein ordered a whopping 330 gallons of sulfuric acid back in 2018.

This comes as more Epstein files have been released by the Department of Justice, shedding more light on the crimes of the late convicted sex offender.

In response to the revelation that Epstein had purchased 330 gallons of sulfuric acid, Musk took to X, formerly Twitter, to write: “Uhh … that’s super weird.”

Many people took to social media to share their own reactions to Musk’s statement, with one user writing: “Bro.. you were dying to be a part of his clan and now you are playing that good cop bad cop game. STFU.”

Another said: “Why the hell he would want to purchase all of that for?”

A third person commented: “Suitable for destroying evidence, even corpses. Super weird.”

And a fourth added: “Sulfuric acid is often used in reverse osmosis to make sea water potable, as well as cleaning swimming pools. Maybe he just liked buying in bulk.”

In other Epstein news, footage of Ghislaine Maxwell captured her refusing to answer questions in a deposition on Monday (February 9).

Video of the convicted associate of sex offender Epstein, was published by the GOP Oversight Committee’s YouTube channel.

Back in 2022, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for her part in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Epstein over the course of a decade.

She was brought before the US House Oversight Committee as it continues its investigation into Epstein’s crimes but when quizzed, Maxwell invoked her Fifth Amendment right to remain silent.

Instead, Maxwell’s lawyer, David Markus, said: “If this committee and the American public truly want to hear the unfiltered truth about what happened, there is a straightforward path.

“Ms Maxwell is prepared to speak fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump.”

He continued: “Only she can provide a complete account and some might not like what they hear, but the truth matters.”

Per the United States Attorney's office, Maxwell, who was once said to have been a romantically involved with Epstein, assisted, facilitated, and participated in disgraced financier Epstein’s abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping him to recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein to be under the age of 18.

As of November 2025, the Justice Department said that at least 1,000 women were victimized by Epstein, said USA Today.
