MrBeast has made a bizarre prediction following the announcement of Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce.
The singer took to Instagram yesterday (August 26) to announce her engagement to football player Kelce after the pair began dating back in 2023.
Kelce reportedly proposed around two weeks ago in a garden at Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
The couple shocked the world when they posted a series of photos from their proposal with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

In the first pic, Kelce could be seen kneeling on one knee in front of Swift holding a ring box while another snap displays the enormous diamond ring, estimated to be worth a whopping $550,000.
In the images, Swift is wearing a $400 blue and white striped Polo Ralph Lauren dress while Kelce has a navy cable knit Polo Ralph Lauren sweater.
Probably unsurprisingly, Swift’s dress sold out within 20 minutes of the post going live.
The post now has over 29 million likes at the time of writing and has broken a record for the amount of reposts it received.
Plenty of people have been reacting to the news on social media, with even Starbucks weighing in with their thoughts.
The coffee giant joked: “Are we supposed to keep posting about PSL like nothing happened?”
One particularly famous person to react to the news is content creator MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Donaldson wrote: “I unironically wonder if this will increase the amount of women getting married in the next few years.”
The bizarre prediction might seem like a stretch, with marriage rates continuing to drop in the US.
But if Donaldson is onto something, maybe Swift’s influence will turn the tide.
Bizarrely, even President Donald Trump has shared his thoughts on the engagement after being asked by reporters about it during a cabinet meeting when the news broke.
The president said: “Well, I wish them a lot of luck. I think it’s - I think he’s a great player, I think he’s a great guy and I think that she’s a terrific person. So I wish them a lot of luck.”
Trump had previously been a critic of Swift after she publicly endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
Not known to keep his feelings to himself, Trump took to his own social media platform Truth Social to write at the time: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.”
