Jake Paul has issued a bizarre statement following his rant against Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer was vocal on social media during the event where he spoke out against the singer’s appearance.
On X, formerly Twitter, Jake wrote: “Purposefully turning off the halftime show. Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences. (which equals viewership for them) You are their benefit. Realize you have power.
“Turn off this halftime. A fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America. I cannot support that.”

This sparked a response from Jake’s own brother, Logan Paul, who said: “I love my brother but I don’t agree with this. Puerto Ricans are Americans & I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island.”
Jake has received backlash online for his post, going on to ‘clarify’ his words, claiming that his use of the word ‘fake’ had been misinterpreted.
Jake, who lives in Puerto Rico, continued: “He’s not a fake citizen obviously bc hes Puerto Rican and I love Puerto Rico and all Americans who support the country.
“Moreso Bunny is fake bc of his values and criticism of our great country.”
But it seems the boxer is now retracting his statements, going on to share a bizarre post which read: “Guys i love bad bunny idk what happened on my twitter last night ?? wtf.”
Many people have taken to social media to share their own thoughts on Jake’s comments, with one user going as far as to call it racist.

They said: “Fake American? What’s our First Lady? A fake American? Yall so racist, just admit it.”
Another annoyed person wrote: “They pick and choose. Whomever trump is against, they are against. They’re a bunch of f****** puppets.”
While a third added: “Let’s not pretend that if the Super Bowl was streaming on Netflix you’d be saying this.
“If Netflix wanted bad bunny to perform on your next fight, you’d be promoting it.
“You’re bought and sold just like everyone else.”
The Super Bowl LX took place on Sunday (February 8) at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, which saw the Seattle Seahawks victorious over the New England Patriots.
Turning Point USA hosted their own alternative halftime show which was purported to be ‘All-American’ in response to Bad Bunny’s performance, although it failed to draw in as many viewers.
