One former CIA chief has revealed what could possibly happen in the near future between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as a recent move from the former could indicate a chilling series events is on the horizon.
There have been tensions between the United States and Russia for over half a century now, and while some might argue that the current administration is worryingly allied with the eastern European nation, it remains an incredibly complex relationship.
It has become increasingly troublesome since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, despite Trump and Vice President JD Vance's heated discussions with Zelenskyy in the White House earlier this year.
One former CIA chief has offered his own interpretation of current (and future) events involving Russia's relationship with America though, as former Chief of Operations for Europe and Eurasia Ralph Goff sees major change on the horizon.
What does the former CIA boss think will happen?
As reported by UNILAD, 72-year-old Ralph Goff has used Trump's recent move that ordered two nuclear submarines to position themselves 'in the appropriate regions' to predict a chilling future for Putin.

President Trump's move came after a threat of war from a Russian official, indicating that tensions are perhaps higher than usual, and the response from the United States could put Putin on high alert.
Speaking to the Sun, Goff outlined: "It's similar to the Italian mafia organized crime in the United States - where if the head was judged bad for business, then they would get together and take him out. So Putin's got to watch out. He's got to watch the economy. He's got to watch the loyalty of the oligarchs."
The dangerous game of Russian politics and wealth could come back to bite Putin if he's not careful, especially after the attempted invasion of Ukraine has proved to be a strain on the country's finances.

"It's a huge scale of devastation and loss, and that can undermine just about anybody," Goff remarked in reference to the ongoing war, and it could be the death knell for Putin's political career after nearly a decade and a half in charge.

Putin remains still in good stead with Russia's wealthy elite though, but things could change very quickly if an organized threat was to materialize.
"I think this is one of the more likely outcomes for Putin," Goff proposed. "A threat that he doesn't even see coming, comes out of nowhere, and he's gone."

What 'gone' in this case refers to is unclear, but if Goff is correct then this could have serious ramifications on global politics and shift the scales of power in one direction or the other.
