There are some pretty big fingers on some pretty big buttons right now, with the eyes of the world on the nuclear arsenals of the world.
With all this geopolitical tension and hot-headed political figures, there are obvious fears that World War 3 could be just around the corner.
Just as it looked like things between Iran and Israel had died down, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin could be at the center of the next conflict.
As well as fears that Russia could be a catalyst in WW3, one of Putin's generals has said he already thinks we're in the midst of the next global conflict.

The Doomsday Clock sits closer to midnight than ever, with the latest war of the words between Trump and Putin threatening to push it even closer.
During their sixth telephone call since Trump returned to the White House in January 2025, the two presidents discussed the recent strikes on Iran, which Trump labeled as a 'very successful' takedown of Iran's nuclear program.

It doesn't take a military expert to predict the futuristic kind of weaponry that would undoubtedly be involved in World War 3, while this would likely lead to an even more devastating death toll.

According to Putin's foreign affairs adviser, Yuri Ushakov, he stressed the importance of resolving strife through political and diplomatic channels to avoid a situation similar to the one in the Middle East.
Ushakov said that Trump "again raised the issue of an early end to military action," although Putin reiterated that Russia will 'not back down' and reminded the POTUS about "the elimination of the well-known root causes that led to the current state of affairs."
This is Russia's argument that it was forced to invade Ukraine to stop it from joining NATO.
Worryingly, Trump later told reporters he "didn't make any progress with [Putin] today," adding that he was 'disappointed' that the Russian president didn't agree to end the war.

Despite Putin suggesting that Moscow was open to discussions with Kyiv, he went on to warn that any potential ceasefire would require Ukraine to step back from NATO and agree to Russia's territorial acquisitions.
Elsewhere, the Pentagon confirmed the USA is putting a pause on delivering weapons like air defense missiles to Ukraine while it takes stock of its inventory.
Things have already escalated, with Ukraine claiming Russia launched a record 550 drones and 11 missiles against Kyiv.

Another concerning record was broken, as the Ukrainian Air Force said 72 of the 550 drones made it through air defenses.
Air raid alarms rang for eight hours, and in the aftermath, President Volodymyr Zelensky called out what he said was one of the most "demonstratively significant and cynical" assaults during the conflict.
Posting on Telegram, Zelensky concluded: "Russia once again demonstrates that it does not intend to end the war."
As more conflicts get thrown into the mix and ceasefires remain shaky, those World War 3 fears are only rising.
