FBI reveal disturbing Discord messages Tyler Robinson sent hours after Charlie Kirk shooting

Details have emerged about the suspect's personal messages

New details have emerged about Tyler Robinson's Discord messages hours after Charlie Kirk's shooting.

The political commentator, known for his outspoken right-wing views, was killed earlier this week (10 September) while speaking to a crowd of about 3,000 people at Utah Valley University (UVU).

The event was held by an organisation call Turning Point US, which Kirk co-founded. After following up a question about mass shootings in America with another question, a single shot was heard and Kirk visibly collapsed to the floor.

Despite being rushed to the hospital by his security team, President Donald Trump confirmed his ally had died of a gunshot wound to the neck.

Suspect Tyler Robinson was arrested Friday (12 September) after a 33-hour manhunt, with Trump noting someone 'close' to the suspect had 'turned him in'. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has since said the 22-year-old has stayed silent since being taken into custody and isn’t cooperating with investigators.

Speaking to CNN on Sunday, Cox shed more details on Robinson’s background, suggesting the suspect was 'deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.'

“So that information comes from the people around him, from his family members and friends. That's how we got that information,” the governor explained.

“Again, there's so much more that we're learning and so much more that we will learn. There will be -- official charges will be filed on Tuesday and there will be much more evidence and information available then.”

Cox added that the public will receive more information as the investigation continues: “And, again, we're interviewing all kinds of people, everyone that knows him and trying to learn more about what that motive actually was.”

Authorities have now shared some of the disturbing messages Robinson reportedly sent on Discord after Kirk’s death.

In one exchange, Robinson was reportedly tagged in messages that included 'wya' with a skull emoji, implying he looked like he was being sought by the FBI.

However, Robinson allegedly joked that this was his 'doppelganger' trying to ‘get me in trouble’.

Other messages included one user writing: “Tyler killed Charlie!!!” as another user suggested turning Robinson in for $100,000 reward the FBI had offered up. “Only if I get a cut,” replied Robinson.

Another user referenced killer Luigi Mangion with a dark joke: “Whatever you do, don’t go to a McDonald’s anytime soon.” The suspect then allegedly responded that he ‘better also get rid of this manifesto and exact copy rifle I have lying around’, before insisting the alleged killer was ‘CLEARLY’ from California.

Meanwhile, Discord has dismissed claims that the platform was involved in the planning of the incident.

Cox added to ABC News of Robinson: "He has not confessed to authorities. He is not cooperating, but all the people around him are cooperating. And I think that's very important."
