Student who was last to speak to Charlie Kirk before fatal shooting breaks silence

The political commentator was killed in front of 3,000 people

Warning: May contain descriptions that some people find disturbing

While Charlie Kirk's killer remains at large, the FBI is slowly piecing together the political commentator's final moment before he was fatally shot through the neck. The 31-year-old MAGA influencer had been giving a talk at Utah Valley University as part of his American Comeback Tour.

Speaking to a crowd of around 3,000, Kirk was reportedly shot by a lone gunman from the roof of the university's Losee Center. Eyewitness accounts recall seeing a 'fountain' of blood spurting from Kirk's neck, and while the media was quick to report on the news, it took much longer until President Donald Trump confirmed his passing.

Early footage appeared to show someone fleeing from the rooftop, while more recent security footage gives a better viewpoint of the apparent assailant's escape.

Conspiracy theories involving a private jet have been debunked, while two people arrested in connection with his murder have since been released.

Kirk had been discussing gun violence with a student called Hunter Kozak, with his final words being about transgender shooters.

Kozak asked, "Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?”

When Kirk replied, "Too many," Kozak said it was five and continued: "Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last 10 years?”

Kirk asked: "Counting or not counting gang violence?”

Shortly after, a single shot rang out, and Kirk was struck in the neck.

Kozak goes by the name of 'staxiom' on social media, and now, he's made a TikTok video explaining his thoughts on Kirk's assassination.

Admitting he didn't know how to make the video, Kozak condemned the shooter and those who think violence is the answer: "It is not the answer, I don’t know what else to say. It's f**king not.

“It's awful, and a father doesn’t have his kid anymore. Charlie had two kids and a wife, and not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife.

"If my one-year-old boy, like his one-year-old boy, will grow up without memories of his dad...it is a tragedy.

“It is hard to grapple with, and I am part of a community that is struggling to grapple with it.”

Having made a video disputing Kirk's claims about trans shooters, Kozak took the opportunity to confront him directly at the university he attends.

Kozak went on to discuss the 'irony' of Kirk being shot in the midst of discussing gun violence, saying he'd been trying to explain how peaceful the Left was, which only works if people remain peaceful.

He admits he's on the record for how much he disagreed with Kirk, although he doesn't condone what happened, and we should remember that he's still a human being. Ultimately, Kozak says he stood by Kirk's willingness to have a conversation.

As for those who've been celebrating Kirk's murder, Kozak has a message for them: "If you are salivating about what happened...don’t. I don’t know if any of my audience is, but if you ar,e you are not part of what I am trying to build here, at all."
