Elon Musk has broken his silence following his posts about President Donald Trump with a shocking post revealing how he truly feels.
The billionaire surprised people on his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, by admitting that he has ‘regrets’ about his posts.
The former head of the Department of Government Efficiency found himself in a public spat with the president after the Trump administration announced its plans for a ‘big’ budget.

In the exchange, Musk described the spending bill as a ‘disgusting abomination’.
The Tesla boss went on to write: “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.
“Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

The post has since been deleted and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill [a Republican tax and spending bill] because it does not include the policies he wanted.
“The president is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”
In a further post, Musk warned that Trump’s tariffs will ‘cause a recession in the second half of this year’.
Trump went on to respond during an interview with ABC News where he said that Musk had ‘lost his mind’ and claimed that he had asked the billionaire to leave the White House.

In a post on his own social media platform, Truth Social, Trump threatened to cancel Musk’s contracts with the government.
Then, in an interview with NBC News, the president said that Musk has been ‘disrespectful’.
He added: “I think it’s a very bad thing, because he's very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the president.”
Now, it seems that Musk is ready to wave the white flag after he took to X earlier today (June 11) to admit that he ‘regrets’ some of what he has said.

In a post, he wrote: “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”
Now, people have taken to the comment section to share their own reactions, with one user writing: “There's a difference between "too far" and whether or not they are accurate.
“You specifically said the Epstein Files aren't out because he's on them. Is that True or False?
“I lean towards you simply realizing you flipped out, and burnt bridges you still want access to.”

And another added: “It was pretty funny though.”
