Boasting the honor of having the highest IQ in the world must be quite something, although it's not an accolade many of us would want to deal with.
Imagine the constant questions about the theory of relativity, mathematical problems, and the meaning of life. That's before you get to the other kids at school, constantly wanting to copy your homework.
Still, that hasn't stopped YoungHoon Kim from claiming that his lofty IQ of a reported 276 makes him the smartest person in the world.
Modern IQ tests were officially introduced in 1905, although historical figures like Leonardo da Vinci and Shakespeare have been marked with impressive posthumous IQs (sorry, Einstein, your IQ is only 160).

The official smartest person in the world is Marilyn von Savant, who was entered into the Guinness World Record books for her 228 in 1985 – a title she held until 1989. Due to increased controversy and competing tests showing that the idea of the world's 'highest' IQ is a problematic one, Guinness World Records retired the title in 1990. Marilyn von Savant herself called it a 'burden' as she explained: "I am becoming amazingly informed to a superficial extent."

Kim's IQ has been called into question by skeptics, but running with the moniker of the world's smartest person, he's made his feelings clear on everything from the existence of God to cryptocurrency.
While Kim has thrown support behind President Donald Trump, the pair might disagree on where the artificial intelligence scene is heading.
The President of the United States has had a busy 2025, and when he's not mocking voters with AI videos of him dumping poop on protestors or being depicted as a Star Wars Sith, he's making landmark AI deals and signing executive orders to strip back AI regulations.
As for Kim's views on AI, he thinks it will never be able to replicate the emotional intelligence of a human.
With growing concerns about how much time people are spending with AI and the bonds that are being created as they turn to it for emotional support, tragic cases like the death of Adam Raine have only highlighted these worries.
Kim seems to share some of these, posting on X and explaining why AI will never be able to overtake humanity: "AI can never attain the fullness of human intelligence created in the image of God, because it lacks true emotion, morality, free will, love, and a soul capable of relationship with God."
Still, with Joe Rogan suggesting that AI could herald the Second Coming of Jesus, we're sure Kim would have a lot to say on that.
According to the genius' musings, you need a soul to have a relationship with God, which is something AI doesn't have.
Responding to Kim's post, one person said: "Amen. AI is man-made, not made by God."
Another added: "True, artificial intelligence is artificial. It does not have a soul."
A third disagreed as they chimed in saying: "But the biggest reason is AI lacks the power and glory of the Holy Spirit. And since God is infinite and in control of all things, AI can be used by God at will."
Replying to the above, Kim concluded: "Only humans were created in the image of God, as written in Genesis 1: 27 ‘So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them’.”
