President Donald Trump is here to remind us he's the most tech-savvy president yet, but with it, he's issued a warning to those who continue to call his rebranded 'super intelligence' by its old name.
For those who haven't been keeping up, Donald Trump signed a September 29 executive order, titled "Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence", demanding that AI be renamed as super intelligence.
The recent release of OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra has been praised by Nvidia's Jensen Huang for ushering in the era of artificial general intelligence, but with warnings from the Godfather of AI that we'd been 'foolish' to invent artificial superintelligence, those fears that it could be the last thing mankind creates have alarm bells ringing for many.
What has Donald Trump said about his AI rebrand?

Fears about AI’s rapid evolution and potential emergence of artificial superintelligence haven't stopped the POTUS from demanding that we call the current generation of AI super intelligence. The president has launched his own Super Intelligence Force while demanding that all references to AI are removed from government sites.

While some have mocked Trump's executive order and many continue to refer to AI, he's now referring to these people as the 'enemy'. In a typically charged post on his Truth Social, the Commander-in-Chief reiterated: "The White House considers anyone that uses the term, ‘Artificial Intelligence,’ as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, ‘Super Intelligence,’ THE ENEMY!”
This comes after a rant to the U.N. General Assembly where Trump said the USA "totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme” in terms of regulating AI, adding that it will "hereinafter officially called super intelligence” because 'artificial' makes it sound fake. Trump vented: "It makes it sound fake, and it is not fake. It's actually amazing."
He settled on this new name after he launched a Truth Social poll asking whether AI should be renamed as "Super Intelligence," "Superior Intelligence,” or “Extreme Intelligence."
Trump has continued to champion AI, notably clapping back at restrictions levied on data centers and claiming that people who don't want a data center in their backyard will "end up being backwards and poor."
Is SI the new accepted term for AI?

In his executive order, Trump said that American innovators are doing far more than was ever expected when the term artificial intelligence was first coined in 1955. The president added: "The capabilities of today’s frontier systems do much more than imitate or automate discrete aspects of human intelligence."
Saying that his new version of SI amplified human ingenuity to unlock new forms of creativity, the executive order says that this kind of tech is "empowering Americans to achieve what was previously impossible across science, medicine, and nearly every other domain of human endeavor."
Despite backlash from the general public, various tech bros appear to be falling in line with AI's rebrand. Announcing he was changing SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, Elon Musk said, "no more AI," and later wrote: "SpaceX is a super intelligence company.” Amazon's Jeff Bezos also seemed to support the change, telling Fox News: "I do like SI because artificial is not a very flattering thing…Nobody wants an artificial sweetener or artificial flavoring. Artificial sort of means fake."
During the high-profile AI summit at the White House, Huang referred to data centers as "super intelligence factories." When the head of the world's most valuable company is calling it super intelligence, people are sure to take note.
Even though not everyone's sold on SI, it's a change that Trump is pushing through as interest in registration for domain names ending in .si has skyrocketed.
AI, SI, or whatever you want to call it, this kind of tech is clearly here to stay.
