President Donald Trump has launched a new taskforce centering around artificial intelligence which he has described as a ‘Super Intelligence Force’.
This comes just two weeks after the US leader gave an address at the UN General Assembly where he announced his wish for the technology to be renamed to ‘Super Intelligence’.
During his speech at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, Trump said: “From this point forward, all of United States documents, and hopefully the world’s, will be changed to use the much more accurate term ‘super’ as opposed to artificial. So it’s superintelligence.”
The president went on to state that the US government would ‘only encourage super intelligence’ when it comes to the expansion of AI, adding: “We’re going to encourage it, not rein it in.”

And it seems like Trump isn’t backing down on his rebrand of AI as he has since ordered all government websites to delete the word and replace it with ‘Super Intelligence’.

Taking to his own social media platform, Truth Social, the president wrote: “Following the Historic White House Accord on Super Intelligence, where the World’s most important Technology Companies came together, and confirmed their responsibilities to the American People, I am announcing the formation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF).”
Trump went on to detail how this taskforce will coordinate the effort of the federal government to ‘ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence’.
He continued: “The Super Intelligence Force will coordinate the Federal Government's engagement with Consumers, Public Interest Groups, Religious Organizations, Critical Infrastructure Providers, and Super Intelligence Companies, and will be led by Director of National Intelligence, Jay Clayton, Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering, and Chief Technology Officer, Emil Michael, and Director of the Office of Personnel Management, Scott Kupor, and will report to the President of the United States (ME!), and the Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles.”

This follows an executive order by the president to replace the term AI with ‘SI’ in the executive branch in order to apparently ‘recognize the continuously advancing technological frontier and the limitless promise it offers the American people’.
Tech bosses have begun to swap AI for ‘Super Intelligence’
Despite the move being controversial among people online, it appears the new phrase is starting to be adopted by some.
Notably, Elon Musk took to X, formerly Twitter, to write yesterday (October 4): “No more AI. SI. It’s better.”
In a separate tweet, the tech mogul added: “I love SI slopcore.”
