Just weeks after President Donald Trump announced his rebranding of artificial intelligence to so-called ‘super intelligence’, First Lady Melania Trump has now launched a campaign for children to use the technology.
According to an announcement published by the White House, Melania has unveiled a new challenge for 2027 which invites students from kindergarten to grade 12, as well as educators and schools across the US to participate.
The release claims that the AI challenge will give students ‘the opportunity to use SI to dream, build, and develop solutions to real-world challenges’.
Melania stated: “America’s next groundbreaking idea is already sitting in a classroom. We must give our children the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to bring those ideas to life.”

She continued: “America’s future security, prosperity, and global leadership depend on our next generation. Building on last year’s success, the 2027 Presidential Super Intelligence Challenge will empower our children to lead the world.”

This comes after the inaugural challenge came to an end earlier this year, which reportedly engaged more than 20,000 students from all 50 states and US schools around the world.
Trump bans use of AI in favor of ‘super intelligence’
The move by Melania comes just weeks after President Trump revealed he would be rebranding AI to SI, banning all US government websites from using the term for the technology.
During a speech at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City last month, the president said: “From this point forward, all of United States documents, and hopefully the world’s, will be changed to use the much more accurate term ‘super’ as opposed to artificial. So it’s superintelligence.”
Trump went on to claim that the government would ‘only encourage super intelligence’ when it comes to the expansion of AI, adding: “We’re going to encourage it, not rein it in.”
He has since ordered all government websites to delete the word ‘AI’ and replace it with ‘Super Intelligence’.

Taking to his own social media platform, Truth Social, the president wrote: “Following the Historic White House Accord on Super Intelligence, where the World’s most important Technology Companies came together, and confirmed their responsibilities to the American People, I am announcing the formation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF).”
He continued: “The Super Intelligence Force will coordinate the Federal Government's engagement with Consumers, Public Interest Groups, Religious Organizations, Critical Infrastructure Providers, and Super Intelligence Companies, and will be led by Director of National Intelligence, Jay Clayton, Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering, and Chief Technology Officer, Emil Michael, and Director of the Office of Personnel Management, Scott Kupor, and will report to the President of the United States (ME!), and the Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles.”
