A person was shocked at what they claim to have found inside a $60 sealed Nintendo Switch game.

The brand new sealed copy of Echoes of Wisdom was bought from a Walmart store, according to the buyer.

The person took to Reddit to share their shock of what was hiding inside the video game case.

Writing a post on the social media platform, the unnamed person said: “This is what I found when I opened my brand new sealed copy of Echoes of Wisdom from Walmart.”

Before adding: “Title says it all. Don't think it could have been a return since the game just released today and the associate said they hadn't taken any returns for it either.

“It was sealed and looked completely untampered with - but that was what was in there. It seems whoever did this was deliberately trying to match the weight of a Switch cartridge, and the black bits were pretty meticulously inserted into the cartridge holder.

“Definitely not the thing you want to be staring at when you settle down on the couch for a gaming session after a long day. Drove back to Walmart and they gave me a new copy at least, so I'm not out $60 for nothing, but what a weird little side quest to go on before starting this game.”

Along with the post, they shared an image of what was inside the game case, and much to their shock, it was actually a googly eye.

This caused a stir online with many people taking to the comment section to share their reactions.

One user wrote: “Yeah what a bizarre little Indiana Jones switcheroo they did to match the weight. Wonder how they managed to reseal it too. Hmm…”

Another said: “He bought it the day it was released. It was most likely someone in the factory skimming games.”

A third person pointed out a potential reason for the googly eye, adding: “The googly eye makes it rattle like a cartridge would too.”

Another user wrote: “Damn, accounting for visibility, noise, weight - they thought of everything.”

A fourth commented: “I work the customer service desk at Walmart, so new fear unlocked.”

Another said: “As bad as this is, it's kind of funny.”

And a sixth person added: “I open every game in front of the cashier because of this happening to me once years ago.”

You can never be too careful!
