Nintendo has issued a public warning to Switch 2 owners, urging them to avoid one major thing.
The second instalment of the Nintendo Switch was released in June and since then, fans have been enjoying their favorite games on the new console.
However, the company behind the game console has now taken to social media to share an urgent warning to its customers about a potentially dangerous thing to watch out for.
On X, formerly Twitter, the Nintendo account wrote: “When using a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 in a high-temperature environment, the device's temperature may rise.

This could potentially cause malfunctions, so please use it in a location between 5–35°C (41–95°F).
“Recently, temperatures have been exceeding 35°C. Please be cautious when using it outdoors.”
Many people took to the X comment section to reply to the news, with one user writing: “Really??? 5 - 35 extreme temps? So in Europe Switch 2 can only be used in March/April and September/October!?

“Nintendo, whats wrong with u? Expensive as hell and not usable! Fix it quick!!!”
Another said: “If you're going to raise awareness about body temperature, you should finally stop using docks with poor heat dissipation!
“You're continuing with docks for design reasons, but I want you to officially release a cradle that prioritizes heat dissipation. Since a certain level of demand can be expected, I want you to consider it.”
A third person commented: “I have to use a separate fan just for the Switch 2. Seriously, how does a final product get THAT hot constantly?”

And a fourth added: “Leaving it in a place where the temperature rises excessively, like inside a car, is strictly prohibited. It can lead to internal overheating or battery degradation, causing some pretty serious issues.”
Users on Reddit have also shared their experiences with the game console overheating while playing.
One person said: “Switch 2 owner, I noticed in dock mode the console gets very hot and was surprised how hot it was.

Another added: “It does get extremely hot to the touch when docked, however I have yet to have any crashes or such.”
And a third person wrote: “One or two Reddit posts really do not make a trend. It does run hot that is very important to understand.
“It shouldn’t be overheating and if it is please contact Nintendo and your retailer.
“Some faulty units out of 5 million sold Nintendo Switch 2 really does not seem like a worrying trend.”
