GTA 6 release date narrowed down after company's financial report
Ever since the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer dropped at the end of 2023 - nabbing the Guinness World Record for the most viewed videogame reveal on YouTube in 24 hours - we've been unpicking every single detail.
One thing that's harder to work out is when the long-awaited game will actually be released.
The trailer somewhat ambiguously says 'coming 2025' - but what does that mean? That could be a long time to wait if it was, say, the end of 2025.

Well, internet sleuths can't be held down for long - and have combed through a new financial report to uncover a suggested release date.
Redditors have noticed dates for the next quarterly review meetings of Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company.
Rockstar Games is the company responsible for making Grand Theft Auto, but gaming fans suspect Take-Two will be well-placed to know when the game will be dropping.
"PSA: The next quarterly TakeTwo meeting is Feb. 4th '24 and could confirm early next year release," Reddit user LynchMaleIdeal posted on the subreddit r/GTA6.
Fans are guessing the company will confirm an early 2025 release date during this February meeting - and some are getting even more precise than that.
"It’s coming out on Valentine’s Day 2025," guessed one Redditor, suggesting the trailer's musical backdrop - Love is a Long Road by Tom Petty - is an Easter egg.
Many of the theorists agree that the release date is being kept vague for moment, should Rockstar need more development time and have to push it back.
However, not everyone's so convinced the big announcement will take place during the February Take-Two meeting.
"They're not going to step on Rockstar's toes by announcing a release date in an investor call. They'll keep being vague, like usual," one pessimistic Redditor commented.
And that negative outlook was beaten by another commenter, who said: "Us real G's know it ain't coming till 2026."
That certainly might be true if you're playing on PC or an older console - the game will only initially be released to people on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
