GTA 6 fans spot game-changing upgrade from GTA 5’s Los Santos

The latest trailer shows the clear difference between GTA 6 and its predecessor

People have been playing Grand Theft Auto 5 for nearly 12 years now, and while its clearly good enough to stand among the biggest new releases, the latest trailer for GTA 6 has made fans immediately spot a game-changing upgrade that's on its way in the upcoming sequel.

News of a delay was a hard pill to swallow for many GTA 6 fans who are simply desperate at this point to get their hands on the long-awaited game, but disappointment was quickly forgotten once the latest trailer dropped unannounced.

Clever details and Easter eggs that only those with keen eyes will spot were supported by hype-boosting announcements from Rockstar that many still can't truly believe, and it's almost enough for many to ignore the prospect of a hiked-up price tag when the game drops next May.

One detail from the trailer that's not gone unnoticed is the map though, as many fans have indicated that all signs now point to a game-changing upgrade that'll leave GTA 5's offerings in the dust.

As outlined by Dexerto, seemingly the biggest leg up that GTA 6 has over its predecessor when it comes to its map is the variety on offer, as that seems to be far more prominent when studying the most recent trailer.

Much of your time in the world of GTA 5 will have been spent in the sprawling and intricately detailed city of Los Santos, but it's not exactly an unpopular opinion in the community to feel a bit disappointed by everything north of that central hub.

Blaine County is big, there's no denying that, but many fans consider it to be lacking in variety, making the large play area feel comparatively small when placed against somewhere that has more to see and do.

"GTA V's map is honestly not very well designed," explains one fan on Reddit, "in that a lot of the map is, for all intents and purposes, pretty much empty and has nothing to do between Los Santos and Paleto Bay."

Another adds that spending time in Blaine County "gets old," adding that "for those of us who've been playing since day 1, the novelty of Blaine has kind of wore off."

For comparison, details shared by Rockstar already show the incredibly varied areas that players will be able to explore in Leonida once GTA 6 finally releases, and give them far more of a reason to head beyond the center of Vice City.

Industrial areas like Ambrosia directly contrast the water-logged Grassrivers, and Mount Kalaga National Park will give players some stunning views to explore. You've even got the coast of Leonida Keys if you're in the mood for the beach, and there's bound to be far more that we've not yet been given a glimpse of.

"The variety is unmatched, they will out do themselves," writes a comment underneath a post on r/GTA showing off the areas we know of so far, with another adding: "6 totally unique locations, baby!!! Even a f***ing mountain region, I'm soooooo thrilled!!"

One previous leak did appear to quash any suggestions that players would be able to visit other areas from previous games in the series such as Liberty City or the aforementioned Los Santos, but you never truly know what Rockstar has up its sleeve.
