GTA fans spot hidden Rockstar reference in the new GTA VI trailer.

It’s been a wild week for GTA fans. Rockstar first gifted the long-awaited second trailer for GTA 6, breaking a major record and giving fans something official to go on after over a year of silence and nothing but leaks to go by.

That said, Publisher Take-Two Interactive's delay repeatedly assured the community of a release date this year. However, alongside the trailer, GTA VI's release date was pushed back to 26 May, 2026, causing an understandable wave of disappointment among the fanbase as many were ready to play it later this year.

Already exceeding 70 million views in 24 hours, the second GTA 6 trailer comes over a year after the first one, where fans can dive deeper into the Bonnie and Clyde-style storyline of Lucia and Jason - the criminal duo running wild in a modernised Vice City.

Check out the second trailer for GTA VI below:

Just like with the first trailer, keen-eyed viewers have been analysing frames and screenshots to uncover more about the game's plot and characters.

One of which could see the possible return of a character from 23 years ago.

Now, a clever gag has been spotted, which some think is a nod to a previous Rockstar incident.

At the beginning of the trailer, protagonist Jason is seen climbing off his roof, shouting: "Oh, just fixing some leaks."

If you remember back in 2022, GTA 6 was the subject of a massive hack that saw lots of unfinished versions and footage circling social media.

The leak was a major blow to Rockstar and now it seems they're having a playful (or salty) jab at the whole situation.

Elsewhere in the trailer, fans have been dissecting parts where Jason's appearance subtly changes his haircuts and body build, reflecting a beloved customisation option that those familiar with GTA San Andreas will know.

And even though the game’s set in a more modernised Miami, the classic vibes of 80s Vice City are (thankfully) not lost. Songs like Wang Chung’s 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight' and The Pointer Sisters’ 'Hot Together' are keeping the 80s vibes alive for sure.

The fifth version of the video game came out all the way back in September 2013. We probably have a long while to go before we get anymore updates, so for now all we can do is hope for no further delays down the line.
