All-time favorite PlayStation game from the 90's could sell for up to $2,200

The game first came out in 1997

An all-time favorite PlayStation game dating back to the 90’s could make you a fortune if you decide to sell up.

Vintage games are now worth a lot of money to collectors and this particularly classic one is going for up to $2,200.

There is a catch though, in order to get top dollar, the game will need to be sealed and in mint condition.

In order to get the most amount of money, the game will also need to be stamped with a Limited Edition badge.

But if yours isn’t quite new in its condition, don’t fret, because even unsealed, a ‘complete in box’ unit can go for $430.

The game in question happens to be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which came out back in 1997.

The loose disc on its own is worth $195 and the box on its own is worth around $105.

What’s even more bizarre is that even if you just have the manual for the game on its own, it has an estimated value of $172.

However, this isn’t the only game to look out for in your collection if you’re hoping to making some money from your old games.

There are other video games, like Batman Forever Arcade, which was first released in 1996, that are going for $155.

But another serious contender for making a killing is Cindy’s Fashion World.

It’s considered to be one of the rarest PS1 games out there and there’s a copy of it on eBay currently listed for a whopping £1,700 ($2,226).

However, the fact that it’s so valuable now doesn’t mean anything about the quality of the game.

It was first released in 2004 and was a low-budget game aimed at young children.

The reason it’s so rare is because it was quickly removed from the shelves not long after being released.

The problem was that the game had a bug that basically made it unplayable, prompting the developers at Phoenix Games to pull it from sale.

It did actually work fine on the PS2 so if you manage to get your hands on a copy and you want to try it out, that’s the best route to go down.

Still, it’s tricky to find the game as it wasn’t on sale for long.

One fan took to social media to show off his collection of PS1 games, revealing on Reddit that they had ‘been actively looking for a good deal for Cindy's Fashion World’.

Known as @PS1archive, the collector shared how they were trying to get their hands on a copy of every PS1 game but this one had so far eluded them, adding: “At the rate things are going, I think I will be very lucky to see it for less than £1000!”
