Leaks reveal Apple is building a radical new screenless wearable
With millions of Apple fans turning their attention to the upcoming release of iOS 27, which is expected to drop next month, rumors are now swirling that the tech giant could have a brand new product up its sleeve.
This comes as new leaks suggest that Apple is building a radical new wearable that is completely screenless.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, this would mark a ‘revolutionary design change’ for the firm, and could even ‘rethink’ how smartwatches are packaged.
This reported move could be down to the rise in popularity of screenless fitness bands and smart rings, suggests Gurman, who highlighted that these products are ‘cheaper, lighter and… more fun and convenient to use’.

This new product is not expected to be announced any time soon, although many are anticipating Apple’s new range of iPhone models to be unveiled in September, along with the release of iOS 27.
New Apple features dropping with iOS 27
The company is set to drop iOS 27 soon, with fans expecting the operating system update to introduce a more capable, contextual Siri, which is integrated with AI, as well as redesigned icons, and new photo editing tools.
Apple has described the newly revamped Siri AI as a ‘profoundly more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness’.
On the Apple website, it states: “Siri AI also includes a dedicated app for users to revisit conversations across their products, an expanded Visual Intelligence experience, and integrated tools for writing.
“With a bold new architecture uniquely designed to protect users’ privacy, Siri AI leverages the next generation of Apple Intelligence to bring state-of-the-art understanding and reasoning, along with powerful system-wide capabilities, to Apple’s operating systems. These features are available for developer testing starting today, and will be available as a beta to users later this year.”
Other additions include a new Photos app feature known as Captured by Me, which creates a dedicated view that shows all of the photos and videos you have personally taken using your iPhone’s camera.
That means the section won’t be full of screenshots, images you’ve downloaded or pictures someone has sent you in a group chat.
The feature can be found under the Utilities section of the Photos app, where it gives you a straightforward way to see the content you have actually captured yourself.
While it is a relatively simple addition, it’s set to be so useful for users that you might be left wondering why it wasn’t already there to begin with.
