iPhone 18 Pro Max price tag tipped to shatter $1,999 barrier
With the latest models of iPhone expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, rumors are swirling on just how much the new devices will cost.
In previous years, Apple has announced its new lineup during a September event, with fans anticipating the iPhone 18 reveal to follow a similar pattern, although a release date has not yet been confirmed.
Now, some are speculating whether the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max could come with a price tag that shatters the $1,999 barrier.
While the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199, the newer version of the smartphone could end up being launched with a significant price hike.

Some people have taken to social media to speculate whether the iPhone 18 will have a $300 increase, meaning some of the phones with larger storage could hit the $1,999 threshold.

On Reddit, one user wrote: “Given what is going on with memory pricing and Apple wanting to retain margin this wouldn’t be surprising at all.”
Another said: “Already 1300 euros in the Netherlands so will probably be even higher.”
And a third added: “If prices is really are going to be that high: I will just skip this year.”
However, others disagreed, with one person commenting: “I feel like Apple is going to increase the cost, but not as significant as people are assuming. I would assume the base models would be $50 and the pro models could go upwards of $100 to $150.”
And another wrote: “Keep the base price 799/999/1099 but the 512 and 1TB tiers are substantially higher margins. It's not that hard and most people with disposable incomes to afford iPhones will buy the bigger storage tiers anyway. It will drive frugal minded people who get the base storage to look at icloud storage as a more favorable value proposition.”
Fans are also anticipating the release of iOS 27 later this year, with a host of new features soon to become available.
This includes the likes of a more capable, contextual Siri, which is integrated with AI, as well as redesigned icons, and new photo editing tools.
Apple has described the newly revamped Siri AI as a ‘profoundly more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness’.
On the Apple website, it states: “Siri AI also includes a dedicated app for users to revisit conversations across their products, an expanded Visual Intelligence experience, and integrated tools for writing.”
