Your next new favorite feature could be on it's way to your iPhone, as Tim Cook has revealed new tech that can change your photography forever.

iPhones are packed full of amazing features that you often don't even know are there, and while the latest iOS updates aren't always the most popular, they can often bring long requested features that Apple fans have been dying to try out.

One area that affects all smartphone users is the camera, as it's surprising how vital it is to how much you use your device overall.

Whether its creating memories of your favorite artist at a concert, capturing the beautiful scenes of your summer holiday, or simply snapping a pic of your lunch, there's always going to be a reason to take out your phone and click the shutter.

Unfortunately you can't control the rest of the world in front of your lens, and often unintended things get in the way of the perfect shot - but Apple's new feature in the Photos app will change that frustration forever.

Driven by the new generative AI technology built into your iPhone, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed to the Sun that new feature 'Clean Up' will allow you to improve your photos by removing almost anything that gets in the way of your perfect shot.

Cook explained: "You can take a photo and if there's a third person in the photo that you prefer not to be there, you can clean up the photo and remove the person.

"All of us are photographers, right? We've all become photographers, and we all need to clean up some of our photos."

Gone are the days of a random bystander ruining the idyllic morning landscape or maybe you just wanted to keep things simple and stripped back - just use Clean Up and it'll be like they were never there at all.

Of course, this isn't exactly a new feature within the smartphone space, as Google launched Magic Eraser with the Pixel 6 in 2021, offering broadly the same technology as Clean Up.

However, it remains the first time that iPhone users will get their hands on this tool, and we're sure that many will find the genius trick to be an essential part of their photography toolset.

It joins a number of AI-focused tools like the time-saving summaries for email and messages, alongside Gemoji that allows you to create your own custom images based on prompts.
