Apple has quietly dropped a new feature on the iPhone that's a game-changer for music lovers.

If you’re a Spotify or Apple Music user (and if not, why aren't you?!), and enjoy searching for new songs, you're probably more than familiar with Shazam.

Apple has just rolled out a cool feature to the music identification app to make it easier than ever to save the songs you discover.

If you remember, the tech giant purchased the music recognition app back in 2018. From 2020 onwards, iPhone owners can now quickly access Shazam straight from the Control Center.

Now, Apple has updated its Shazam app so that anytime you use its music recognition feature from your iPhone’s Control Center, those songs will automatically sync to the 'My Shazam Tracks' playlist in your Spotify or Apple Music.

Yes, this feature has been previously available - but only if you were using the Shazam app itself.

In the new update, users will be able to automatically sync songs from the Shazam widget in the Control Center.

The only thing is that you’ll have to turn this music syncing feature on, which actually requires the Shazam app to be downloaded on your device.

If you haven't already, you can download Shazam for free on the App Store. Make sure to also update it to the latest version to take advantage of these new features.

Once downloaded, you open the Shazam app and follow the on-screen instructions. On the home screen, swipe up to access Settings (the gear icon in the top left corner).

Here, toggle on 'Sync your songs' and choose the platform of either Apple Music or Spotify.

Once enabled, all your previous and future Shazam’d tracks will sync to that playlist. It won’t matter if you use the Shazam app or access it via the Control Center or Siri, they will sync to your chosen platform.

Apple wrote in the new update: "Shazam will now include songs found via Music Recognition in Control Center, Siri and Shortcuts to your “My Shazam Tracks” playlist in Apple Music or Spotify.

"Simply toggle “Sync your songs” off and on in Shazam settings to re-sync all your previously discovered songs from the Shazam app."

The tech giant added that if your playlist isn't updating, you may need to reopen Spotify.

"Don’t forget to keep your Shazam History safe and in sync between your devices. To do this, turn on iCloud sync in Shazam Settings," Apple confirmed.
