Apple fans have become divided after it was revealed that a key component is being axed from the new AirPods Pro 3.

Apple unveiled a whole host of new products during its ‘awe-dropping’ live event on Tuesday (September 9).

Among the new releases are the AirPods Pro 3, which the tech giant described as a ‘must-have upgrade’.

These new AirPods will come with some key features, including live translation for speaking to people in different languages, upgraded active noise cancellation, and even a potentially life-saving heart rate monitor.

The live translation will be powered by Apple Intelligence to improve communication between different languages.

The earphones come with a new design, featuring smaller earbuds and an improved fit.

The AirPods will also come with a longer battery life, boasting eight hours per charge, and will also have up to 10 hours of battery life for the Hearing Aid feature to assist those who are hard of hearing.

However, fans of Apple weren’t too pleased to find out that something essential is missing from the new product.

This is because the latest AirPods don’t seem to come with a charging cable.

Many have taken to social media to share their own reactions to the news, with one user writing on Reddit: “Then lower the price so people who need them don't have to buy them. Pretty soon they'll stop including power cords with major electronics because people just defend their favorite company to the point where said company knows they can get away with it.”

Another said: “Nothing has caused more waste than all the stupid lightning to usb-c cables I have that serve no purpose.”

A third person commented: “How are people shilling for this? $300 pair of earbuds and no charging cable. I’ve never bought anything that doesn’t come with a cable.”

And a fourth added: “I’m still on all lightning devices, so it sucks when I do [make the] transition, that I won’t get replacement cables without having to pay more to transition.”

Still, one tech-savvy Apple fan did make a point when they said: “Good. When Apple first started omitting the USB-C cable from the iPhone 15 box, I thought it was just penny-pinching. Now that I have more USB-C cables than devices by a factor of 10, I have to agree. Companies should stop including them.”

Apple has shared that the AirPods Pro 3 will be available to buy from September 19.
