We have more than enough things to worry about when it comes to going on holiday, and if it's not trying to remember if you locked the front door, it's ensuring everyone has their passports, getting to the airport on time, or making it through security. All of that's before you even get on the plane, and while you might think you can sit back and relax with a pre-flight drink, we're sorry to report we've got another reason you might be anxious when jetting abroad on your supposedly relaxing vacation.

While we're repeatedly told how safe flying is compared to some other modes of transport, that doesn't take away from the fact that many of you are (rightly) nervous flyers. Now, one flight attendant has taken to Reddit to reveal all and answer your burning questions about what it's like up there in the clouds. We've already reported on flight attendants revealing the 'scariest' thing that's happened on flights, but what about a disgusting twist on the tale?

As you can imagine, things quickly descended into smut, with most questions being about whether they'd been in the Mile High Club, whether they'd want to be in the Mile High Club, and whether they've ever caught anyone doing the dirty. You'll also be pleased to know that anxious flyers can pop onto the flight deck and ask the pilots any questions they have before the flight. Annoyingly, they reiterate they have no actual powers to upgrade your ticket because that's down to those at the gate.

Deciding what to wear on a flight is more important than you might think for many, trying to strike that perfect balance with not being too hot, not being too cold, and being comfortable while still looking chic.

Depending on where in the world you're jetting to, shorts might be a popular choice for comfort. In the Reddit thread, u/meowaek explained the 'grim' reason why you should leave your shorts in your suitcase.

On Redditor asked: "What are some things you would absolutely not do on a flight as a passenger?"

The OP's surprise answer was: "I would never wear shorts or open-toed shoes. Shorts because people change their babies on those seats.

"Open-toed shoes because if there is an emergency, I don’t want any risk of tripping or getting injured and closed-toed shoes are ideal for reacting quickly."

The pre-flight safety warnings often tell us to kick off loose shoes in case of an emergency, but we'll admit the shorts issue is one that we've never really thought about.

Responding to the revelation, one shocked person said they'd expect people to act more 'formally', adding: "Would people be changing babies just in the main seat bit where everyone is? are there no separate facilities for this? I imagine this is really unpleasant for everyone around!"

Another chimed in saying: "Depending on the airline, it can be like what you might see on a bus or train at times. Some people will just do those things, but it's not something you'll necessarily need to worry about either."

A third concluded: "A lot of airlines do not have changing tables in the bathrooms for parents. It is insane really. No parent wants to try to balance their kid in the bathroom on the toilet to change them. The flight attendants were so apologetic the first time I flew with my kid and realized there were no changing tables on the plane."

Great, now we've got to rethink that carefully planned airport outfit.
