Air hostess reveals how to get free first class upgrades on your next flight

It comes down to where you sit and whether your flight is overbooked.

Whilst flying in the luxurious first class is a no-go for most of us, there's a way to still enjoy the experience without having to sell an arm and a leg.

Flight attendant, under the TikTok handle @Cierra_mistt, shares flying tips to her followers on how they can get 'FREE upgrades to FIRST CLASS' as captioned in her video.

In her video, she breaks down the two key tactics that could have you enjoying the high life in the air. It all comes down to where you said and how full the flight is.

Firstly, Mistt suggests to 'sit in the very last row.'

'Now, you might be thinking that sounds a little weird. But let me tell you why. On flights that are full, we normally have to move passengers for weight and balance purposes.

'And when we do that, it's normally come back to the front. And if that's the case, the flight attendants are gonna choose the people in that very last row to go up front because then they can sit down there after doing their service because it's a lot more comfy to sit in those passenger seats than it is the jump seat.

Mistt also mentioned that this tip is to be kept on the DL because the flight attendants aren't supposed to be sat in those seats.

Her second tip is more about getting compensation.

'Number two is even easier and it's for full flights, which happens a lot,' the air hostess said.

Mistt explained that if your flight is full and overbooked, the gate agents usually make an announcement informing you that it's overbooked and that they need volunteers.

'They'll normally start really low at like $200 to $500 as an airport voucher.'

At this point, the TikToker advised that her followers go to the gate agency and give them a price. Most importantly, say that you would like it in cash.

'Last, but not least, when the gate agent is rebooking you for that next flight, make sure that they put you in first class to compensate for your time that you're losing because you had to get kicked from that flight.'

Mistt's followers have been trying these tricks with some success.

'Can confirm the “take a bump and volunteer”,' one commented.

Another wrote: 'I picked the last seats for a trip to Amsterdam and was moved to business class and had 4 seats to myself…both ways!!'
