World's largest carmaker recalls over 1,000,000,000 vehicles due to one hugely dangerous flaw

This error could lead to an alarming number of preventable crashes

The world's biggest car manufacturer has shockingly had to recall over 1,000,000 vehicles after a dangerous fault was discovered, as it could lead to an alarming number of preventable crashes and accidents.

Car recalls aren't exactly a rare occurrence in the modern age, as the sheer number of electrical components inside the vehicles are far more prone to failure, and some of the biggest companies have been hit by significant issues over the years.

Any Tesla owners will certainly know the feeling as it feels like every other week that the company's electric cars are facing a recall, yet it's now Toyota's turn to face the music as a worrying fault has been discovered in over 1,000,000 vehicles.

Reportedly, a number of models manufactured by Toyota – the largest automaker globally – have been recalled in the United States, with an issue identified with the Panoramic View Monitor.

This monitor allows drivers to see what's behind them when they're reversing, giving them a much safer way of backing out and can often be the thing that avoids accidents and issues on the road.

Often it will also have a detection system that prompts the driver when they're edging close to something – whether it be another car, a wall, or even a person – effectively giving them a heads up warning and another pair of eyes while moving into a potential blind spot.

It's understandable then that any issues that might arise with this Panoramic View Monitor would become a necessity for the manufacturer to fix, and it also means that any affected cars fail to comply with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which often determines when vehicles have to be recalled.

Any drivers with an affected vehicle will be notified that they need to take their car to the nearest dealership, and it affects 22 total models from both Toyota and Lexus.

These include the Toyota Camry, Highlander, RAV4, Prius, Grand Highlander, and Land Cruiser, alongside Lexus models such as the RX, NX, TX, GX, LX, and ES. There's also a single model from Subaru too, with the Solterra included in the recall.

Thankfully once you take your vehicle to the nearest dealership they will install and update the camera software for no extra cost, meaning that it should be a quick and easy fix to ensure that you're ready to head on the road once more.
