Dismembered remains of dead body discovered in trunk of singer's Tesla

The singer-songwriter is currently in the middle of a world tour

There is a flurry of questions after the 'putrid' remains of an unnamed victim have been found wrapped in plastic, inside the trunk of a vehicle registered to the singer-songwriter known as D4vd.

Real name David Anthony Burke, D4vd's career started with him making video montages of the video game Fortnite, then making his own music to avoid copyright strikes on his channel. As his following grew, he notably released songs like "Here with Me" and "Romantic Homicide" that went viral on TikTok. As well as his music, Burke is a devout Christian and has a TikTok account dedicated to Bible reading and sermons. He reportedly grew up strictly listening to gospel music, but eventually discovered other genres after he heard Lil Pump's "Gucci Gang".

After releasing his debut album in 2025, Burke memorably performed at Coachella and is currently supposed to be in the middle of his world tour that started in August and is due to conclude in December.

ABC7 reports how the Los Angeles Police Department is looking into the macabre scene where a body was found inside the front trunk of an impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard. The outlet claims the vehicle is registered to the 20-year-old artist.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. local time, authorities were called to the address amid complaints of a foul odor emitting from the vehicle. Police state that the impounded Tesla has been there for a couple of days, with the human remains being found inside a bag. AIR7 footage shows police cordening off the vehicle with yellow tape as a white canopy is set up at the impound lot. There's no information on the identity of the victim, although D4vd is scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on September 9. He's also due to stop in Los Angeles on September 20.

The 2023 Tesla is supposedly registered to Burke in Hempstead, has Texas plates, and was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills a number of days ago.

D4vd has billions of Spotify streams on his music and has been regularly sharing social media posts over the past few days. Still, it's important to note that there's no further information on whose body has been found in the Tesla.

Since September 2022, Burke has been signed to Darkroom and Interscope Records.

Eyewitness News says it has reached out to D4vd's representatives but hadn't received a response at the time of publishing. D4vd's socials have also been quiet since news of the discovery first started doing the rounds.
