Twitch has banned a popular streamer after a shocking clip surfaced of her ‘reckless driving’.

The footage has now gone viral which appears to show the streamer sailing through a red light while distracted by the phone she was using to live stream.

This was reported on X, formerly Twitter, by DramaAlert who revealed that ExtraEmily was banned from the online platform yesterday (April 13).

While the reason for the ban hasn’t been confirmed by Twitch, it comes less than 24 hours after the social media star filmed herself running a red light in Austin, Texas.

During her live stream over the weekend, Emily flipped the camera on her phone, which was mounted to the car’s windscreen, and filmed herself driving through a set of red traffic lights.

Acknowledging what she had done, at the time Emily said: “That happens all the time. In Austin, you know, the stoplights here are really long so usually I just go past. It’s fine, it’s fine, people do that.”

Posting the clip on X, in a post, DramaAlert wrote: “Extra Emily distracted by her phone, seemingly runs a red light…”

Later, the account shared an update, adding: “EXTRA EMILY BANNED AFTER RECKLESS DRIVING CLIP GOES VIRAL.”

This is the second time that the influencer has been banned from Twitch after being banned from the platform for 18 hours back in 2023.

The reasoning behind her first ban was due to her being on her phone while driving.

At the time, Emily, whose content uses focuses around IRL vlogging, said: “I completely understand why I was banned because I was looking at my phone while driving and from that ban, I have learned from my mistake and I’m going to make sure I grow from it and not look at my phone ever again while streaming.”

While it is currently not clear how long Emily will be banned for this time around, her Twitch profile currently shares this message: “This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community guidelines or Terms of service.”

Viewers reacted to the news on social media, with one person writing: “They should revoke her license.”

Another said: “Why would u even stream urself driving LOL.”

A third user commented: “welp it’s just the consequences of her actions.”

A fourth wrote: “Good. More streamers need to be.”

And a fifth person added: “She’ll be back for sure.”
