Little-known Netflix codes help viewers find shows they 'didn't know existed'

No more struggling to find something to watch

The battle of the streaming giants continues, and while the likes of Disney+ and Prime Video climb the ladder, it seems there's no toppling Netflix from the top of its game.

Starting as a Blockbuster-inspired rival that used to ship DVDs in the mail (if you're old enough to remember it), Netflix has since evolved into a very different beast.

As well as being blamed for putting Blockbuster out of business, Netflix has pioneered the video-on-demand business model since it launched with just 1,000 movies to stream back in 2007.

Netflix's streaming model continues to keep it at the top of its game, and even after it clamped down on password sharing, it's reaping the rewards of your monthly subscription.

After earning nearly 22 million new subscribers, and despite complaints about price rises, Netflix's projections carry on climbing as it boasts original content like Squid Game, Black Mirror, and Stranger Things.

While its originals like Wednesday and Money Heist continue to top the charts, it turns out you could be missing out on a slew of top-quality shows. Netflix's US charts are currently dominated by The Waterfront, Sirens, The Survivors, and more, but over on Netflix-Code, there's a list of all the secret codes to find so much more.

Thanks to Netflix's new AI innovations, you'll be shown a specific catalogue of movies and shows based on your interests.

If you want to see everything, check out the site or head to What's on Netflix for an even more expansive look at individual categories.

Looking at your URL bar, simply type netflix.com/browse/genre/ and then insert the specific code. For example, netflix.com/browse/genre/65263 would take you to LGBTQ+ TV shows, while netflix.com/browse/genre/83059 is for horror TV series.

We've already covered how 10118 will take you to all the superhero movies on Netflix, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you enjoy what you've been watching, simply find the show or movie's ID in the URL and tack it onto the end of netflix.com/browse/similars/[INSERT ID] to get similar titles.

Netflix has cultivated various collections over the years, so if you're a Harlan Coben fan, check out 81180221, or if you love Shonda Rhimes shows like Grey's Anatomy, type in 81349039.

Specific channels have their own sections, so if you can't get enough of HBO's output like The Sopranos, head to 100407. If AMC's The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad are more your thing, try out 81921061.

Finally, if you're convinced you've seen everything there is to see on Netflix (good luck), there's a specific code (1592210) that's just for what's been recently added.

So, before you go cancelling your Netflix subscription after claiming there's nothing left to watch, you might want to dig a little deeper into the archives.
