Disney+ users are again sharing their rage online, with some 40 million subscribers bracing for yet another price increase. In the aftermath of those in the USA raising eyebrows over recent raises, another major nation is about to feel the pinch.

Streaming services have been on a price-raising trend this year, and Disney+ is the latest to join in.

In February, Netflix raised its UK prices significantly. The popular Standard subscription without ads jumped by £2 to £12.99 per month, with other upper-tier packages also seeing increases.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has also been in the news over pricing, currently facing a lawsuit after allegedly misleading 2.7 million customers about subscription costs.

Following the Jimmy Kimmel Live! controversy back in September, Disney announced plans to raise subscription prices for US customers, with similar increases planned for Canada, the UK, and other markets. Specifically, Canada’s Disney+ raised prices twice in 2024. All three tiers increased by $1 the second time around.

Now, Disney is preparing to raise Canadian prices yet again, leaving many subscribers wondering if the escalating costs are still worth it. According to Money.ca, Disney+ monthly subscriptions are set to increase by up to $3 in Canada, depending on the tier. This comes just days before the streaming giant was set to release 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps on 5 November.

Heralded as the 'return' of the MCU, Matt Shakman's ensemble boasts an all-star cast of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, earned $521.9 million at the box office, and has an impressive 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Disney+’s Standard ad-free plan jumps to $15.99 (up from $12.99), and its Premium ad-free tier will now cost $16.99 (up from $15.99). However, Disney+’s Standard with Ads plan will remain unchanged at $8.99 a month.

The hikes are already in effect for new subscribers. For existing subscribers, the timing depends on when you signed up.

The official Disney+ website reads: "If you signed up for a monthly Disney+ subscription before 30 September 2025 you will see a price change in your billing cycle on or after 4 November 2025.

"If you signed up for an annual Disney+ subscription before 30 September 2025 you will see a price change in your billing cycle on or after 25 November 2025."

Social media reactions on X show many subscribers have reached their breaking point with yet another price increase.

"It’s becoming too expensive. I think this is gonna be my last year," one frustrated user wrote.

"They’re gonna push people right off the platform," another argued.

"Those 4 billion they lost this last week from the Jimmy Kimmel stuff 😂 Yeah no thanks. I’ll keep it cancelled," a third user commented.

"Yeah pretty soon I’m going to give up streaming. I have always bought physical but enjoyed the convenience of streaming. But it’s no longer convenient. This is obvious greed from all streaming companies," someone else concluded.
