If you've ever wondered how much money you'd earn from 10,000,000 views on YouTube then thankfully one creator is here to reveal all, as they go in depth on the money behind their best performing videos.

It's certainly no secret that getting big on social media can earn you a lot of money, as we've seen staggering reports on the funds that petfluencers and Snapchat stars can earn through their respective platforms.

Things definitely scale the bigger you get though, and having a few hundred thousand followers is nothing compared to what several million can bring you in the grand scheme of things.

YouTuber Ali Abdaal gave us a look behind the curtain, showing us exactly how much he earned from his most popular videos, and the numbers will definitely shock you.

The video in question is titled '9 Passive Income Ideas - How I Make $27k per Week', and perhaps there has never been a better title to revenue match than this!

Ali reveals that the video, which at the time had attracted 9,800,000 views, earned an unbelievable $191,258.16. This was across just 432 days, working out at $442.72 every single day for over a year from just one video.

This also equates to around $0.02 per view, and in the two years since the money reveal was published his most popular video has gained an additional 3,000,000 views. This would potentially indicate that he's earned another $60,000, but it's unlikely that ad revenue is as cut and dry as this.

Abdaal explains that these types of YouTube videos can be treated like 'digital assets' or 'investments', akin to renting out real estate or placing money in low-risk stocks.

This is down to their ability to passively generate income for a near limitless period of time, and while the most profitable period for a video is always shortly after its release, if popular and evergreen enough it will continue to stack up views and keep you going indefinitely.

"The fact that I've put the time and effort into making this video and sticking it on YouTube," Ali explains, "means that this video is generating, it's generating passive income, it is making me money even when I'm sleeping, which is kinda the definition of an investment."

What he does reveal though is that gains like these are far from an overnight success story, and it takes time and effort in order to build a following enough so that you can reach heights like this.

Ali shows that it took him nine months and around 85 videos to make even a single penny, and only around three years later was he able to even come close to what he is making today.
