Futurama's "We're doomed" meme might've just become a little more relevant, as Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson has delivered a grave warning about YouTube.

As the most subscribed content creator on the popular video platform, MrBeast's 443 million subscribers put him miles ahead of India's T-Series in second.

More than just his main channel, Doanldson has numerous side hustles that could be just as lucrative.

While MrBeast remains coy on what he's actually worth, his revenue stream is also backed up by the likes of Amazon's Beast Games, his Feastables brand, and MrBeast Burger.

Still, considering YouTube is his bread and butter, he's right to be worried about where things are going.

Posting on X, MrBeast lamented the state of artificial intelligence and admitted that some videos are just as good as the real thing.

With this in mind, Donaldson predicts there could soon be an AI takeover of YouTube.

Sharing his fears, the most-subbed YouTuber wrote: "When AI videos are just as good as normal videos, I wonder what that will do to YouTube and how it will impact the millions of creators currently making content for a living...scary times."

This isn't the first time MrBeast has become entangled in AI, and alongside wild claims that his proposal was faked with AI, he was drawn into controversy when he released (and quickly pulled) an AI YouTube thumbnail tool.

When one person on Reddit said they're not surprised he's concerned, someone else chimed in saying: "Why would he be concerned? He has enough money to last a couple generations."

Another added: "I mean it's not even when they are 'just as good'. I've found with multiple games I play that I've gotten AI-generated trash many times while searching for specific guides/information.

“It's already a threat to active content creators, and it's horrific for new creators discoverability.”

A third saw it as a potential to make YouTube better, as they concluded: "Maybe people will try to produce better content. There's a lot of room for improvement."

Over on X, many were quick to remind Donaldson about his AI tool, with someone else raging: "Brother YOU TRIED TO MAKE AN AI STARTUP. Your future is the one you tried to cultivate."

Many echoed this sentiment, imploring Donaldson to read the room.

We don't need to remind you that numerous jobs are under threat from AI, but alongside a rise in AI influencers and even the world's first AI actor, content creators could really be next on the chopping block.

Even though we imagine MrBeast has a big enough bank balance to remain more than comfortable for the rest of his days, we've got to agree that these are scary times we're living in.
